| City: Amherst Location: Possible scam on elderly, Sunrise Dr. |
Joseph Kucirek | |
| This department is investigating a complaint where a male who stated he was from the Anthem Blue insurance company went to the home of an elderly couple. The male named a person and stated they were behind on their payment. The person the male named had been deceased for 14 years, however complainant was the cousin to the deceased and shared the same last name. The male was invited into the home. It just so happened that the complainant did have insurance with Anthem Blue and proved he was not behind by showing the male suspect his cancelled check. The male did not ask for any money. Anthem Blue says they would never send people around to discuss these issues. The male is described as: a W/M, about 6'2", average build, no facial hair, approximately 40-45 years old, wearing a dark in color heavy jacket and regular glasses, believed to be prescription glasses, and blue jeans, which did not appear to be very clean. He carried a black leather type binder. Male was driving a larger dark in color, possibly black, van or SUV. Any department with similar complaints let me know. Kucirek |
